Louis Pierre-Lacouture, who goes by the alias Enzym, is an artisan of sound. The tools of his craft are enzymes, with which he catalyzes an electronic music mixing piano, glitches and keyboards to produce sounds somewhere between Chopin and Boards of Canada. Compiling sounds like lego pieces, he constructs, deconstructs and mixes sounds, melodies and rythms, out of which emerge sound sculptures. During her stay in Paris, singer and fashion designer Tokko collaborated with Enzym to compose and record Warm, mingling her aerial vocals with the chopped piano and polyrhythmic bass and percussion lines that have become Enzym’s signature.

ルイ・ピエール＝クチュールはEnzymというアーティストネームのもとサウンドクリエーターとして活動中。エレクトロミュージックと生ピアノ演奏を化学反応させるための起爆剤としてのEnzym−邦訳「酵素」の意−と様々なテクニック、そして鍵盤から生み出されるサウンドは、いうならばショパンとボーズ・オブ・カナダの間あたりに位置するのであろう。まるでレゴブロックのごとく、音、メロディーとリズムを組み立て、壊し、そして融合させていく作業は音の彫刻である。
シンガーかつファッションデザイナーであるTokkoはパリ滞在中にEnzymとコラボレーションし、「Warm」をレコーディングした。彼女の軽やかな歌声は、Enzymの得意とする切り刻まれたピアノ音、ポリリズムなベースとドラムスにみごとに重なりあった。
